Data protection notice
Purpose of data collection
The Thünen Institute of Forestry is organizing the international symposium "Managerial forest economics and accounting as a base for decision making in a changing world" on behalf of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) from September 5-7, 2022. Personal data will be collected as part of the registration process and for the purpose of organizing the meeting. The registration data will be treated strictly confidentially and processed exclusively within the framework of the conference.
Processed and stored data
Within the scope of registration and the conference, the following personal data will be processed: Personal details, Participation details and Personal and Participation details of the accompanying person.
Each registration questionnaire is provided with a unique identification number (ID) automatically generated by the survey software. The ID is stored along with your responses. The survey software also stores the date from which you participated in the survey.
The contact data used will be deleted 3 months after the end of the event.
Data transfer
The data collected as part of the conference registration will be used exclusively for the purposes of the conference organization and will not be passed on to third parties.
Data storage
The software "LimeSurvey" is used for data collection, the registration runs on servers of "LimeSurvey". The system is mandated and only the organization team has access to the data. After completion of the data collection, the data on the LimeSurvey server is deleted and stored on a server of the Thünen Institute. There, only the members of the organization team have access. The personal data will be deleted 3 months after the end of the event.
Objection and opposition
Participation in the conference and the associated data collection is voluntary and based on your consent, which you give by clicking the consent box (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. A EU-DSGVO). You can refuse to participate in the conference at any time without giving reasons, cancel or revoke the consent with effect for the future in writing or by mail. This will not result in any disadvantages for you. Strict technical and organizational measures ensure that the evaluation is only carried out by the participating organizers.

Your rights
Within the framework of the legal requirements, you are generally entitled to the following from the Thünen Institute:
- Revocation (see note above)
- Right to information about the use (including disclosure, if applicable) of the data
- Confirmation as to whether and to what extent the personal data in question is processed by the Thünen Institute,
- Information about these data and the circumstances of processing,
- Correction, insofar as this data is incorrect,
- deletion,
- Restriction of processing in the event of a dispute in accordance with Article 18 (1) DSGVO,
- Transfer of your personal data - insofar as you have provided them - to you or a third party in a structured, common and machine-readable format,
- Complaint to the official data protection officer or the competent supervisory authority (Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Information Security (BfDI)).
